Local Shops

In our own village square we have 2 small local shops selling essentials and 5 minutes from the guest house you can find a larger supermarket where you can find most things you will need during your stay.

Fifteen minutes away you can visit Polski Trambesh. Every week there is a market held here selling home grown produce as well as clothes and goods for your home. There is also a selection of shops in the centre along with some restaurants, bars and a pretty square complete with a water fountain where local festivals are held.

“Samovodska Charshia” - the pearl of Veliko Tarnovo

“Samovodska Charshia” - the pearl of Veliko Tarnovo

“Samovodska Charshia” is the oldest market street in Veliko Tarnovo. In the early 19th century, when the town was rapidly developing, this cobbled street began to emerge with lots of workshops, bakeries and cafes.

Nowadays there are workshops for the making of cutlery, tannery, pottery, carpentry and  weaving.where the artisans follow authentic techniques of work.  Along with the restaurants and cafes you defiantly get  a Renaissance atmosphere in this quaint part of the town.

During the 19th century the important Tarnovian inns were located here, among them the Hadji Nikoli Inn, which has now been restored. Also Somovodska charshia includes the monument and museum house of the eminent Bulgarian writer Emilian Stanev and the monument to Stefan Stambolov - an active figure from the time of the Bulgarian Liberation, who afterwards became Prime Minister of Bulgaria (1887- 1894).
